One Life, Live It To The MAX! Student Camp (Part 2)

Continues from the last post…

Although not being able to attend camp, I think God for His greatness in me. A special speaker spoke during the Sunday about revelation in KLFGA. He shared how do we differentiate words of prophecy and others. I learnt new things and get to see my first church in KL once again. Amen.

Wei Quan

· Only one life, we ought to live it to the max by fulfilling the great commission.

· Live lives that are worthy of God’s praise. That people in the world may see the Christ in us.

· Be of positive influence to our surrounding

· Unity is most definitely the key…

One Life, Live It To The MAX! Student Camp

One life, live it to the MAX! student camp

We regretted joining this student camp because we had too much fun that we want more, More, MORE of the camp!!! This Boot Camp will forever serve us a space in our memories. The fun that we have had, the powerful teachings we have learned, all happened because God’s presence was with us there. Praise God for the creative committees from Hope PJ and also all the leaders who had been working so hard and sacrifice their bedtime for us. Thank God for their commitment!

The word of testimonies are important to lift up our faith. Therefore, the MMU caregroups would like to share their heart beats with you here. Enjoy =)

- To be changed, to serve God and learning “the dream”

- It’s a joyful thing to serve Him and worship Him

- Learn to follow the examples God has given me through the camp

The meaning of excellence- give our best, not to be perfect

- Love one another more

Fire fighter scene – just realized during emergency time when the full potential is given out, you’ll never know that even 2 people can carry a guy.

Unitykidnap scene – Looking at brothers and sisters who were blind-folded and “tortured” reminded me that I used to help and accept people. It’s time to change

Application:

- Excellent spirit in work and ministry

Do not give up easily!!

The lesson I have learned through the camp is God will make things which seem impossible to become possible so long that we do not give up easily. Indeed, it was a fruitful camp. We do face a lot of challenges. However, I believe God will surely bless our land (MMU) as we do not give up easily.

I have learned the key word “Do not give up easily”. Fyi, our group was team 9, which was also the least in numbers among the 12 teams. We had a lots of station games in the camp. Our ranking was the 2nd last during the 1st day of activities. We never thought of winning any prizes. Winning seem impossible for our team. Our team did not feel discouraged, instead we put our very best effort to enjoy playing every game during the camp. To cut the story short, our team won the 1st runner up. Wow! Everyone of us were shocked once the announcement were made. Impossible things do happen when God is around!

Chiu Ling

————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

- Excellence in my work place – positive spirit in attending to all customers

- Victory in not giving up, God will surely bless you!

- Excellence in my ministry – building people, discipleship

Steward

————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

- Working together obeying one leader keeps matters moving effectively

- Know my sheep more

- Sweet spirit, though losing, make a difference

Ricky

————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

- Unity

- FAT-Faithfulness + Availability + Teachability

- Cannot abandon anyone in our group as God never abandon anyone of us

- No complain, no cheating

- We can achieve greater work for God even we are small in numbers

- Do our best to achieve excellence

- Excellence is not perfection, but if we are willing to give our best, we can do great things for God’s Kingdom

- Obedient to God as well as leaders. Even the leader is weak, but he/she is chosen by God to lead us

Sheue Yun

————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

God is my source of joy, no one can replace Him

- It’s easy to be baptized, but it’s hard to keep the promises during water baptism. Need God’s strength

Vincent

————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

- Walk with God forever

- I have my purpose and vision

- I need to practice forgiveness

- Encourage people as this is my gift from God

- I’ll not giving up even when I encounter problem because I know God is always with me.

- Read bible everyday

Freddy

Kidnap scene: Reminded of the invisible God who unfailingly love me. In the darkest moment, when we are despair, lose hope, feel giving up, God is the invisible power behind the scene who plants love and hope in us. He is waiting for us to turn to Him, to put hope in Him. Though we cannot see what God sees the fact is that God still love us no matter how we have become. His love for us remain unchanged.

Unity: Leading a group of people of various characteristics who have different priority is a very hard chore. However, when you show kindness to them, put hope in them, persevere in doing what is right and crying for God’s leading, God will eventually change the hearts of the people and move them together with God’s vision.

What you see Life Game as? Merely a game (How pathetic!)? You think it’s a game that is real enough to reflect your real life character? *&^$@%#! Sure enough all kinds of thoughts cross over your mind.

Life game= purely a game?! What type of road would you choose for your life?

Life Game is not a camp whereby campers are to climb mountains or dive into the sea or even jungle trekking. As per promoted in church, it is like in the real world. The real life events and incidents are all brought into Life Game. In this game, you can play different roles such as students, teachers, police officers, businessmen, blablabla.. Moreover, you can go to school, work, setting up a family and running your daily routine. You will face choices in life, good or bad, which you will have to bear on the cost of your choice. In short, you are here to discover your life purpose through the way you conduct your life.

Oh dear, why the MMUians ended up in jail?!! -_-
Life Game is a God-inspired game founded by Pastor John Kwan from Malaysia. Up to 2006, it has been held for more than 22 times. More than 3500 youths have learnt the value of life. We praise God that this game has been a blessing to many who took part.

Praise God that Hope KL managed to be fitted into the Life Game schedule this year and we just had this life transforming camp organized at Inti, Nilai last week. The camp breaks the record of being the largest student camp in Hope KL!!! It has touched and impacted lives of its 358 campers. By God’s grace, we witnessed the coming of the 7 newly-born spiritual babies. Hallelujah!
The congregation were praising the Lord
The presence of the Lord was so strong during the 4-days-3nights camp. Many responded to commit their lives in God’s ministry. As children of God, we face all kinds of challenges in our walk with Him. We live in the world, not of the world. However, often, we find ourselves following the wide road taken by the crowd. It takes courage for us to lay our lives for God by putting down our selfish desires, following Jesus with the hard and narrow road. In our own desires, we might gain the whole world yet our souls die; but in God, we find true life that will last for eternity.

We find life purpose in God
Life is only once. We are grateful that Life Game is just a game and we can still renew our relationship and commitment to God to see a greater breakthrough in our lifetime. It reminds us to live our life honoring God’s name, doing things that bring lasting fruits.
What can bring eternal fruit?
We pray that Life Game that has been touching lives and changing hearts will not meet its end in the camp; instead the message of God will deeply press into every heart. Each life will be refreshed by God’s love and God’s works, each life will live with the hope of God.

A time of strengthening each other with testimonies
God knows the future, and His plans for us are good and full of hope. We will not be spared from trials, temptation and troubles but God will see us through to a glorious end. So long as we walk in line with God’s plan, no doubt we can see boundless hope. Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

One way–> Jesus!

Do not let regretful decisions take away God’s perfect plan for your life. Never choose the common road that leads to destruction. Make a difference by choosing the narrow road, and you shall see life.

LIFE GAME 2007

What are the dreams of our youths? Playing computer games everyday? Complete a Bachelor’s degree as soon as possible? Find a job quickly and earn money? Get married with a beautiful wife or to a handsome husband. Thinking everyday on how to achieve your dreams. How do you turn your dreams into reality? Some people try to play a computer game called “The Sims” in the hope of controlling their own destiny and knowing what life is all about. However, their desires are not met as this is not a real life game, but, something that we play with our fingers on computer screen, void of any real life experience.

We want to introduce you to another type of games called “Life Game”. It is like in the real world. Anything that can happen in the real world can also happen in this “Life Game”. In this game, you can play different roles such as: students, teachers, police officers, businessmen, doctors Moreover, you can go to school, work, get married, bearing a child and running your daily routine. Whether eating, drinking, playing, you are able to acquire with the money you have. Similarly, you will face many choices in life, good or bad, which you will have to bear on the consequences as a result of your choice. You can also become a superstar, the mayor, the impartial and incorruptible judge or as the unscrupulous criminals and rich people. In short, in “Life Game”, as long as you are capable and aspire what you want in your life to be, you are able to do so and enjoy your “life” process.

Are you interested and ready to join this unique camp? This camp is not an ordinary training camp or fun camp, but it is a camp, that incorporated real-life elements. Remember, whatever that can happen in real life, can happen in “Life Game”. Until 2006, this game has been held for more than 22 times. More than 3500 youths have learnt the value of life. We believe that your life can be changed due to this “life experience”. It even allows you to know the reason you came to this world.

Come and register! Your participation in this “Life Game” will change your life and brings new hope to you.

Welcoming Night —> J-Gener@TioN

Thursday, July 12, 2007

MMUCG had a superb Welcoming Night on 4th July 2007. The event was actually dedicated to all responsive freshies. We wanted to build strong relationship with them and slowly bring them to know Christ. Moreover, we also aimed to challenge existing members and visitors to take up more roles in serving the Lord.

High praise
Our goal was 20 people, including all the existing members. Praise the Lord that we did reach the target!
The Welcoming Night came with the title “J-Generation”. Basically we wanted to learn from all the mighty men in the bible whose name had the initial “J” , like Joshua, Joseph, etc.

Who says seniors like being BIG bully? The saying is not applicable to our Caregroup. Tell you what, our seniors here are all very adorable one. Maybe you’ve phobia during orientation week but hey, look here! See their posing, so cute! They are much friendlier than you could ever imagine.

Seniors with their very own posings

The CG was amazing. Everyone jumped and danced along during the high praise! The house was too small to occupy so many people. We were overjoyed like kids and had our feet on dancing because GOD WAS and IS with us. You could expect accident happening here. There were 3 games led by Sheue Yun, Chee Yi and Jinnie. All very fun game. This was the time when you can see all the seniors “kiddy” around with the juniors.
We danced on our feet

J-Generation ended with refreshment. The refreshment were keropok lekor and green bean soup. The keropok lekor was brought all the way from Terengganu by Chiu Ling. Many love the keropok very much. Our 3 Chinese friends love the green bean soup very much. They said that they miss their mom’s cooking and they were so touched that they could drink the delicacy here. Thank God for Sister Erica’s feedback on the other week’s CG. The ‘tong sui’ strategy really works for outreach/follow up. Hehe.. ^.^

Refreshment – keropok lekor and green bean soup
MMUCG, you all have done great job in outreach! Give yourself a BIG clap! Yay! The seeds are all here. Do persistant on watering so that the seeds will grow and become a plant and eventually see fruits bear. And don’t forget to keep the contacts in prayer, for we want to allow God to work within us. Amen!

CaMeRon ReTreAT 2007

New Gen FiRst EvEr ReTrEaT.
Thank God for such a WonDeRful ReTreAt. GueSS WhaT? We’d taken more than 1000 pictures! Amazing for AMATEURS like me! I guess after this trip, all of us are natural potential and talented in becoming super models, especially some SISTERS and you know who you are.
We thank God, We had our brother Alex, an expert navigator, who take all the navigation skills to bring us across the mountain and ocean to ENJOY the beautiful scenery of cameron. Eventhough, this trip is just a 2days 1 night thing but I believe each one of us really enjoyed ourself and we FULLY utiliZE our TIme to FELLOWSHIP together, To HAVE fun together, TO PRAY together and more. Yes, I DID enJOy Myself Very Much.
